Hackley's game  on Monday was a  loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Wednesday. They blew past Varsity Opponent 19-1. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by ten  runs or more this season.
 Andrea Hegarty made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out 13 batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned run off   one  hit (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts any time she's  pitched this season. She was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with one  home run, five  RBI,  and two  runs. What's more,  she posted two  doubles, the most she's  had since back in May of 2024.
 In other batting news,  Gabrielle Paes was  incredible,  going 2-for-4 with two  triples, three  runs,  and one  RBI. Those  two  triples gave  her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Ellie Firsenbaum, who  went 1-for-3 with three  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI.
Hackley's victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
 Hackley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  game,  a  7-3  defeat against Poly Prep Country Day on the 2nd. Varsity Opponent has also already played their next  contest (against Newman International Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
