The Sheldon Panthers lost against the School of the Ozarks Patriots back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Sheldon took a 48-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of School of the Ozarks. That's two games in a row now that Sheldon has lost by exactly six points.
Sheldon lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Aiden Ellifrits, who scored 15 points along with two steals. Ellifrits has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Aiden Bogart was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds.
School of the Ozarks was led to victory by Josiah Martin and Timba Saffle. Martin scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Saffle scored 15 points along with three steals. Martin hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Fisher Thompson, who scored six points.
This is the second loss in a row for Sheldon and nudges their season record down to 13-8. As for School of the Ozarks, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sheldon will face off against Ballard at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Sheldon is facing Ballard at the right time seeing as Ballard is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. School of the Ozarks' road trip will continue as they head out to face Chadwick at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Chadwick is coming into the contest with nine straight defeats at home, so School of the Ozarks is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
