Even though the Hoover Cardinals scored an imposing 57 points on Friday, the Lincoln Hornets still came out on top. Lincoln secured a 61-57 W over the Cardinals. The win was all the more spectacular given Lincoln's disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 456th, while the Cardinals are ranked 179th).
Several Cardinals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Santiago Estrada, who scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Estrada has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Amanuel Tesfahunegn, who scored 16 points.
The win makes it two in a row for Lincoln and bumps their season record up to 9-17. As for Hoover, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-11.
Lincoln will head out on the road to face off against the Centurions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hoover, they will be playing at home against the Falcons at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Scripps Ranch will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
