North Johnston is 1-9 against Beddingfield since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The North Johnston Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Beddingfield Bruins at 5:45 p.m. North Johnston is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
Two weeks ago, North Johnston strolled past Rosewood with points to spare, taking the game 40-24. Given North Johnston's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while Rosewood is ranked 514th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Beddingfield unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 53-52 to Goldsboro.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Sa'Naiya Coppedge, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Natasha Marshall, who scored 15 points along with six assists and three steals.
North Johnston's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Beddingfield, their defeat ended a 12-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3.
North Johnston took a serious blow against Beddingfield in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 59-22. Thankfully for North Johnston, Daneesha Briggs (who scored 32 points along with five rebounds and four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
