The George Jenkins Eagles''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Lake Gibson, falling 42-0. George Jenkins has struggled against Lake Gibson recently, as their match on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Lake Gibson can attribute much of their success to Fentrell Graham, who rushed for 146 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Graham was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 57 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kordell Lewis, who picked up 61 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
George Jenkins' loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Lake Gibson, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
George Jenkins will head out on the road to face off against Parrish Community at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Parrish Community will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Lake Gibson will take on Lake Minneola at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lake Minneola will be hoping to continue their five-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
