On Friday Perry take on Howard at Perry High School at 7:30 PM. It might come down to the wire as the MaxPreps rankings project a close matchup.
Last Friday, Perry lost to Upson-Lee by a decisive 31-48 margin. Perry got a solid performance out of sophomore Lane Rucker, who passed for 323 yards and 2 touchdowns; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win. Rucker has been a consistent playmaker for Perry as this was the 5th good game in a row from him.
As for Howard, Howard had a rough outing against Jackson three weeks ago, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Howard managed a somewhat close 16-10 victory over West Laurens. The score was all tied up at the break, but Howard were the better team in the second half.
It was close but no cigar for Perry as they fell 27-29 to Howard the last time the two teams met. Maybe Perry will have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back on MaxPreps for all the details.
