The Erwin Warriors pushed their score all the way to 72 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. Their rough 93-72 loss to Pisgah might stick with them for a while. Erwin has struggled against Pisgah recently, as their match on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Erwin lost, one person who can't be blamed is Carson Wallace. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. Wallace scored a full 36.1% of Erwin's points, the tenth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Kelson Rymer was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Erwin has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Pisgah, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2.
Erwin will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Enka at 8:00 p.m. Pisgah and Swain County will face off at 8:00 p.m. on January 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Swain County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 336th, while Pisgah is ranked 144th).
