Troy lost against Gateway College Preparatory back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Trojans fell just short of the Gators by a score of 2-1. The Trojans' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Troy was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Gateway College Preparatory work for it, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 26-24, 19-25, 25-20.

Skylar Workman paced Troy's offense, picking up ten kills. Workman got some help from Aubree Brashear and her 30 assists. Kinsley Mitchell controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Troy's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Gateway College Preparatory, they pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Troy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Robinson on the 19th. As for Gateway College Preparatory, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Cedar Creek on the 19th.
