If The Catoosa Indians were feeling good off their 49-13 takedown of the Skiatook Bulldogs last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Catoosa was beaten by Wagoner 54-23 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Catoosa can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 141st, while Wagoner is ranked 16th).
When it comes to explaining why Catoosa lost, one person who can't be blamed is Braxton Repschlaeger. Despite the final result, he picked up 103 receiving yards and a touchdown. Repschlaeger was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 61 yards. Fernando Dominguez made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Catoosa has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Wagoner, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0-1.
Catoosa will head out on the road to face off against Cleveland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cleveland comes in on a streak of failing to score more than six points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Wagoner, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Miami at 7:00 p.m. Miami is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
