Basketball Recap: Robinson Falls Despite Big Games from Zyon Floyd and Jaden Behel

Robinson lost against Plant City back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Robinson Knights lost to the Plant City Raiders on the road by a 75-61 margin. The Knights' loss continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row.

Robinson's loss came despite strong showings from Jaden Behel and Zyon Floyd. Behel went 10 for 20 on his way to 27 points, while Floyd went 5 of 9 en route to 12 points along with eight assists and three steals. Those 27 points gave Behel a new career-high. William Hussein was another key player, putting up 11 points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Leading Plant City to victory were Gavin Tinsley and Logan Teeden. Tinsley dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds, while Teeden dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 assists. With that strong performance, Tinsley is now averaging an impressive 8.3 boards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Laurice Hamilton, who posted seven points and 13 rebounds.

Robinson's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Plant City, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Robinson has already played their next contest (against Brandon), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Plant City will head out to challenge Alonso at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Plant City will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
