The Bay City Blackcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 67-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Columbia. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Bay City still got an impressive performance from Alex Estrada, who scored 28 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Molina, who scored 14 points.
Bay City dropped their record down to 5-16 with that defeat, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Columbia, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-17.
Bay City will take on Sweeny at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Sweeny focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 last Tuesday. As for Columbia, they will head out on the road to take on La Marque at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
