The New Covenant Academy Warriors will take on the Early Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. New Covenant Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Early will be coming in after a loss.
On Tuesday, New Covenant Academy got the win against Galena by a conclusive 12-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Warriors have posted against the Bears since May 15, 2018.
Keilynn Armitage looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Early lost a heartbreaker to Weaubleau when they met back in May of 2024, and they left with a heavy heart again on Tuesday. The Panthers fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Panthers have suffered since May 14, 2024.
Early saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cash Graves, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Landon Tomlinson was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
New Covenant Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Early, their loss dropped their record down to 11-10.
New Covenant Academy couldn't quite get it done against Early in their previous meeting back in April of 2023 as they fell 5-1. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
