Lynchburg-Clay's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jade Massey led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 16 points and nine steals. Massey is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last 13 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Macy Etienne, who scored 24 points.
Despite the loss, Peebles still got an impressive performance from Payton Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 16 rebounds. That was a full 47.8% of Peebles' points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Abigail Smalley, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Lynchburg-Clay is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Peebles, their loss ended a eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-4.
