Softball Recap: Arizona College Prep Wins Going Away Against Centennial

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Arizona College Prep had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They blew past the Centennial Coyotes 9-1. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won 19 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Liliana Gagnon looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Arizona College Prep got a big performance out of Taylor Estrella, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Estrella has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Paula Cantu, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Arizona College Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Centennial only posted a batting average of .120.

The victory made it two in a row for Arizona College Prep and bumps their season record up to 23-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Centennial, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-11-1.

As of now, neither Arizona College Prep nor the Coyotes have any future games scheduled.
