Baseball Recap: North Muskegon Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

North Muskegon never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Mason County Central Spartans with a sharp 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Norsemen, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Jaxon Bean was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted over his last five matchups. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI.

In other batting news, Carter Mieler was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kylan Nielsen, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

North Muskegon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mason County Central only posted an OBP of .300.

The win was the fourth in a row for North Muskegon, bringing their record up to 17-4. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mason County Central, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

North Muskegon will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Spartans: the pair will be back at it again later today.
