The Templeton Eagles waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They came out on top against Atascadero by a score of 62-53. For Templeton, this counts as revenge for the 72-70 defeat Atascadero walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Templeton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Luke Asplund out in front who scored 22 points along with five rebounds. Asplund hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Trevon Carter givens, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 19 rebounds.
Templeton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. As for Atascadero, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-13.
Templeton won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against St. Joseph at 12:45 p.m. on February 7th. St. Joseph has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,360 points over their last 16 contests. As for Atascadero, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Lompoc at 6:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Atascadero's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Lompoc has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
