Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Christ the King Royals, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. Their tough 35-12 defeat to St. John the Baptist on Saturday might stick with them for a while. Christ the King's loss keeps them winless this season.
Maxwell Bowers was the offensive standout of the match as he threw for 130 yards and two touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes. Luka Skoda was in the mix too, providing St. John the Baptist with two touchdowns.
Christ the King's defeat was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their record down to 0-9. As for St. John the Baptist, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Christ the King does not have any more games scheduled as of now. St. John the Baptist will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Peter's at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. Peter's is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
