The South Adams Starfires were the 46-35 winner over the Fort Recovery Indians when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. South Adams might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 52-46 to Fort Recovery, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. South Adams has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Loss or not, South Adams got some senior leadership from Macy Pries who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and two steals and Liz Gerber who scored 11 points along with three steals. That was a full 54.3% of South Adams' points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
South Adams has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Fort Recovery, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-8.
South Adams will be playing in front of their home fans against Woodlan at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Fort Recovery, they will head out on the road to challenge Coldwater at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
