Bear River hasn't had much luck against Ridgeline recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bears will head out to challenge the Riverhawks at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Bear River will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any points last Friday, then bounced right back against Deseret Peak on Thursday. The Bears simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Golden Eagles 44-7. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Bears had established a 23-point advantage.

One reason for the win was Bear River's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Bennett Allen and Brecken Garn, who racked up five sacks between them. Garn has become a key player for Bear River: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least one sack, but 0-5 otherwise.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Bear River, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Glaiden Behrens, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Ridgeline put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 49-14 victory over Green Canyon. Fans of the Riverhawks have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.
Ridgeline's win came from a few key players Bear River will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Nate Dahle, who threw for 443 yards and seven TDs. Those seven passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Ridgeline's leading receiver Graham Livingston was Dahle's top target yet again, picking up 212 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Ridgeline proved: they limited Green Canyon to a paltry 3.2 yards per carry. The team can thank Landon Perkins for the heroic effort on defense: he. Ridgeline hasn't allowed more than 5.9 yards per carry in five consecutive matchups.
Bear River's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Ridgeline, their victory bumped their record up to 9-0.
Bear River was dealt a bruising 42-6 defeat at the hands of Ridgeline in their previous matchup back in September of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Dahle, who threw for 307 yards and three TDs on only 17 passes, and also punched in one score on the ground.
