The Western Beaver Golden Beavers will venture away from home to face off against the Hampton Talbots at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Western Beaver has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with four straight defeats, while Hampton will come in with six straight victories.
Beaver hit Western Beaver with a seven-run fourth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Golden Beavers came up short against the Bobcats, falling 11-1. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Golden Beavers couldn't push the score so high this time.
Western Beaver saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaitlyn Zele (2025), who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Hampton narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Beaver 6-4.
Marissa Snyder spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Aliza Michielli was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Addi Hanna also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Hampton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.
Hampton pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Western Beaver, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Western Beaver hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .350. However, it's not like Hampton struggles in that department as they've averaged .323. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
