The Riverview Raiders are taking a road trip to challenge the Springdale Dynamos at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Riverview's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Springdale's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Riverview took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They never let South Allegheny get on the board and left with a 4-0 win.
Lukas Duncan was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Ashton Saunders was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Meanwhile, Springdale came into Thursday's contest having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Everything went their way against Summit Academy on Thursday as they made off with a 10-0 victory. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Dynamos' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Joseph Loebig made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Springdale is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 0-7 otherwise. Loebig was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cameron Orait, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Vince Howard also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Springdale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Riverview's record now sits at 9-3. As for Springdale, their record is now 2-8.
Springdale's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Riverview hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314. It's a different story for Springdale, though, as they've only averaged .238. Will they be able to contain Riverview's hitters?
Riverview got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 against Springdale by a conclusive 18-0 score. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Dynamos have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
