Franklin has been on the road for four straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Hillsborough Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Franklin knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Hillsborough likes a good challenge.
On Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Franklin beat Linden 60-54. The win was all the more spectacular given Franklin's disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while Linden is ranked 20th).
Meanwhile, Hillsborough came up short against Rutgers Prep on Tuesday and fell 63-53.
Despite their defeat, Hillsborough saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Zion Harrison, who scored 17 points along with seven steals and six rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harrison has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Green, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Franklin's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-7. As for Hillsborough, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-3.
Franklin came up short against Hillsborough in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 51-44. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Hillsborough's Philip Unangst, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Now that Franklin knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
