Sammamish is 5-0 against Evergreen since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Sammamish RedHawks the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Evergreen Wolverines at 8:00 p.m. on January 26th. Sammamish has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 638 points over their last nine contests.
Sammamish posted their biggest win since December 12, 2023 on Saturday. They blew past Hazen 81-56. Given Sammamish's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while Hazen is ranked 223rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sammamish's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Barry Morrissette, who scored 25 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Morrissette has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Keith Kariuki, who scored 18 points.
Evergreen won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Monday. They took a serious blow against Renton, falling 104-67. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Friday (62), Evergreen still had to take the loss.
Sammamish pushed their record up to 13-4 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.2 points per game. As for Evergreen, they now have a losing record at 8-9.
Sammamish beat Evergreen 59-49 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Will Sammamish repeat their success, or does Evergreen have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
