Victoria is 7-0 against Kinsley since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Victoria Knights will be playing at home against the Kinsley Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Victoria pushed their score all the way to 56 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of St. John by a score of 58-56. Victoria has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Seth Schwien, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. William Scherrer was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five assists and four steals.
Meanwhile, Kinsley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 11th straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 54-34 walloping at the hands of Ellinwood. While losing is never fun, Kinsley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 341st, while Ellinwood is ranked 152nd).
Victoria dropped their record down to 7-10 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Kinsley, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-16.
Victoria skirted past Kinsley 48-46 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Will Victoria repeat their success, or does Kinsley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
