Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles  on Thursday. Dayspring Christian Academy walked away with  a   3-1  win over Gilpin County. Winning may never get old, but Dayspring Christian Academy sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
 Dayspring Christian Academy had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-19, 25-15,  25-11.
Among those leading the charge was   Matise Lujan, who  had 13  digs and two  aces.  Abby Brown also deserves some recognition as  she  had her first  kill of the season.
 They weren't the only good servers: Dayspring Christian Academy  was lethal from the service line and  finished the match with 11  aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  served at least ten  aces in three consecutive  matches.
 Despite the loss, Gilpin County still got an impressive performance from   Jennifer Rodriguez-Jimenez, who  had 21  digs. Rodriguez-Jimenez has been hot, having  posted 11 or more  digs the last six times she's  played.
Dayspring Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Gilpin County,  with the  loss, they broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 5-8.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Dayspring Christian Academy will  square off against  rival Union Colony Prep  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Gilpin County is set to  challenge  their familiar foe Flatirons Academy  at 6:30  p.m.  on Monday.
