Mid-State 38 - Raritan recap October 1, 2013
Delaware Valley was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in Mid-State 38 - Raritan. The Terriers vanquished Voorhees 31-10 earlier in the week.
North Plainfield moved up to 166 from 192 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Canucks were able to move up by besting Somerville 24-0.
Cranford's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. John Oblachinski threw for 51 yards and Joe Norton had 37 yards receiving. On the ground Donovan Walker contributed 168 yards.
Chris Ambrose provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Delaware Valley beat the Vikings. He completed 3 passes for 32 yards and also ran for 138 yards.
Norton was the best receiver in the league this week as the Cougars lost to Summit. Norton racked up 3 receptions for 37 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Oblachinski and Walker, Cranford has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Oblachinski leads the league in passing with 172 yards, while Walker has rushed for 302 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is Mike Columbo's team's Tim Bill, with 73 yards on 4 catches.
As it stands, the Hilltoppers are in first, while North Plainfield is in third.
Summit took down Erik Rosenmeier's team 48-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
