You can't lose the match if you win every quarter, and that was precisely the Williams Vikings's strategy against the Seligman Antelopes on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Williams blew Seligman out of the water with a 72-17 final score. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 47-13.
Kai Mortensen continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Williams' points. Another player making a difference was Braydyn Larimore, who scored 17 points along with four steals.
Williams is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season. As for Seligman, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-17.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Williams will square off against Ash Fork at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. The timing isn't great for Ash Fork: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Williams has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road. As for Seligman, they will square off against El Capitan/Centennial Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
