This season hasn't been kind to the Western Indians, who are still winless after their eighth contest. They fell just short of Clay by a score of 21-18. Western was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Clay apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Clay's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emma Emnett, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Emnett has scored at least 25% of Clay's points.
Western's loss was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-8. As for Clay, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Western will head out on the road to face off against Wheelersburg at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Clay will be home for the holidays to greet Zane Trace at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Zane Trace has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 22.
