The Bloomfield Bees will be playing at home against the Wakefield Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Saturday, Bloomfield came up short against Niobrara/Verdigre and fell 61-52. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bloomfield in their matchups with Niobrara/Verdigre: they've now lost eight in a row.
Despite the defeat, Bloomfield got a solid performance out of Madison Abbenhaus, who scored 29 points. Abbenhaus scored a full 55.8% of Bloomfield's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Tenly Gilsdorf, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Wakefield's 17-8 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 58-34 walloping at the hands of Battle Creek on Friday. While losing is never fun, Wakefield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 77th, while Battle Creek is ranked 16th).
Bloomfield now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Wakefield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
Bloomfield was taken down by Wakefield 64-30 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Will Bloomfield have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
