Milton Academy hit Belmont Hill with a four-run fourth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Sextants wound up with the same score they had in their last game (6-5), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.
Brian Seo made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylan Flynn, who went 3-for-4 with one run.
Meanwhile, Roxbury Latin faced Noble & Greenough in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Foxes came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 9-5. The Foxes haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
The team relied heavily on Tom Pender, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season. Colin Roache was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Roxbury Latin's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Belmont Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
Roxbury Latin's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Belmont Hill hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .315. It's a different story for Roxbury Latin, though, as they've only averaged .216. Will they be able to contain Belmont Hill's hitters?
Belmont Hill was able to grind out a solid victory over Roxbury Latin in their previous matchup back in March, winning 7-3. Will the Sextants repeat their success, or do the Foxes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
