Volleyball Recap: First Baptist Christian Academy Takes a Loss

If First Baptist Christian Academy was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Halifax Academy on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Crusaders lost 3-0 to the Altamonte Christian Eagles on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Crusaders of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2023.

Altamonte Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Valeria Marte led the charge by getting 21 kills, four blocks, three digs, and three aces. Marte is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least seven every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ashlyn Hoberg, who had 34 assists and four aces.

First Baptist Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Altamonte Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-15 record this season.

First Baptist Christian Academy has already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Odyssey Charter School on the 4th. As for Altamonte Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Riverbend Academy on the 4th.
