The Coral Gables Cavaliers lost against the Ferguson Falcons back in January of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Coral Gables' rough 57-36 loss to Ferguson might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Coral Gables can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 557th, while Ferguson is ranked 255th).
Despite the loss, Coral Gables saw an underclassman step up: Sela Pe?a scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamariya Dekle, who scored ten points.
Coral Gables' defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Ferguson, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Coral Gables will be playing at home against St. Brendan at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Brendan is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. As for Ferguson, they will head out on the road to face off against Palmetto at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Palmetto focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Wednesday.
