4A Cowapa recap October 8, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in 4A Cowapa this week, Banks beat Seaside 20-14. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Banks and the Seagulls played the closest game in the league this week, with Banks eventually emerging with a 20-14 victory.
Taylor Loss threw for 207 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was 25-31 with 1 interception.
Loss put up the best numbers through the air as Scappoose bested Yamhill-Carlton. Loss' favorite target this week was Justice Oman, who caught 6 passes for 75 yards.
Scappoose's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Indians feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Loss has thrown for 1,240 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Oman has 37 catches for 617 yards.
Fans will be treated to a premier battle in the secondary when the Indians' Oman goes up against Tillamook's Isaac Stellflug.
Next week's game between Scappoose and the Cheesemakers will feature an aerial matchup as Loss tests his arm against Stellflug's defensive ability.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Ben Buchanan's team takes on the Tigers. The Braves are currently in first, while Yamhill-Carlton is in fourth.
