The Fort Collins Lambkins entered their tilt with the Erie Tigers with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Fort Collins managed a 48-43 victory over Erie on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Fort Collins also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fort Collins to victory, but perhaps none more so than Avery Alcaraz, who scored 11 points along with five steals. The matchup was Alcaraz's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Claire Wagstaff, who scored 13 points.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Juliet Slater, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. Alexandria Ridenour was another key contributor, scoring two points along with four steals.
Fort Collins' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Erie, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-2.
Fort Collins will head out on the road to face off against Broomfield at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Broomfield is ranked 33rd, while Fort Collins is ranked 36th). As for Erie, they will be playing at home against Horizon at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Horizon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday.
