Harrison Central is 2-8 against Biloxi since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Harrison Central Red Rebels will head out on the road to take on the Biloxi Indians at 6:00 p.m. Harrison Central will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Harrison Central can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 69-42 victory over D'Iberville. Given Harrison Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while D'Iberville is ranked 75th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
After soaring to a 30-point win in their last game, Biloxi came back down to earth on Saturday. They fell just short of McGill-Toolen by a score of 31-29. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Biloxi has suffered yet this season.
Despite the defeat, Biloxi saw an underclassman step up: Zaniya Johnson scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Johnson has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times she's played.
Harrison Central pushed their record up to 16-2 with that win, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 22.33 points. As for Biloxi, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-3.
Harrison Central might still be hurting after the 47-26 loss they got from Biloxi in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. Now that Harrison Central knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
