Delaware Valley has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Imhotep Charter Panthers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Delaware Valley's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matchups.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Delaware Valley walked away with it. They blew past the Zephyrs 56-27 at home. Considering Delaware Valley has won eight matches by more than 26 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
It was another big night for Ryder Machado, who rushed for 252 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 13.3 yards per carry. Logan Olsommer was another key contributor, throwing for 210 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes.
Another reason for the win was Delaware Valley's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Leading the way was Jacob Albaugh and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, Imhotep Charter put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They managed a 30-26 win over Roman Catholic.
Mikal Davis jr looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 81 yards and three touchdowns.
Delaware Valley has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 10-3 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.0 points per game. As for Imhotep Charter, their victory bumped their record up to 12-0.
We should be in store for an exciting game Saturday as Delaware Valley and Imhotep Charter have no problem gaining yardage. Delaware Valley has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 383.1 total yards per game. However, it's not like Imhotep Charter struggles in that department as they've been even better at 385.6 per game.
