The Huntingdon Bearcats will head out on the road to square off against the Bellwood-Antis Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Pennsylvania (Huntingdon is ranked 491st, while Bellwood-Antis is ranked 498th).
Huntingdon came into Monday's match having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Juniata Valley by a score of 71-64 on Monday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meanwhile, Bellwood-Antis suffered a tough 77-53 defeat at the hands of Forest Hills on Monday. Bellwood-Antis was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-21.
Despite the defeat, Bellwood-Antis saw an underclassman step up: Martin Fatzinger scored 11 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Fatzinger has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Anthony Caracciolo, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Huntingdon's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-10. As for Bellwood-Antis, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.
Huntingdon didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Bellwood-Antis in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 42-38 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Huntingdon since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
