Carrboro hasn't had much luck against East Chapel Hill recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. Andrew Jones made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk). Another player making a difference was Owen Rounsley, who scored four runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, East Chapel Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 5-0 to Jordan. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Wildcats haven't been shut out since back in February.
The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-6. As for East Chapel Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.
