Baseball Recap: Howland Has No Trouble Against Canfield

Howland barely beat Canfield the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 13-6 margin over the Cardinals on Wednesday. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Santino Minniti, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Luca Fronzaglio, who went 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.

Howland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 5-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Howland is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Canfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-6.

Howland has already played their next matchup (against Lakeview), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Canfield, they will venture away from home to square off against Tallmadge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cardinals are facing the Blue Devils at the right time seeing as the Blue Devils are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
