The Mile High Academy Mustangs lost to the Pine Hills Adventist Eagles back in January of 2022, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. Mile High Academy pulled ahead with a 26-25 photo finish over Pine Hills Adventist. Given Mile High Academy's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 300th in Colorado, while Pine Hills Adventist is ranked 1426th in California), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mile High Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Logen Meyers, who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Max Ramos, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Pine Hills Adventist lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Luke Childers, who scored eight points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Mile High Academy and bumps their season record up to 5-7. As for Pine Hills Adventist, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mile High Academy will take on Aurora West College Prep Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Aurora West College Prep Academy is coming into the match with eight straight defeats on the road, so Mile High Academy is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Pine Hills Adventist, they and Chesterton Academy of Sacramento will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Pine Hills Adventist focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday.
