The E.E. Smith Golden Bulls won the last time they faced the Western Harnett Eagles, and things went their way on Monday too. E.E. Smith breezed by the Eagles on the road to the tune of 68-40.
Decarlo Brunson was his usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Asany Richmond, who scored 16 points along with five assists.
When it comes to explaining why Western Harnett lost, one person who can't be blamed is Don Thomas. Despite the final result, he scored 13 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Kevin Guerrero, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
E.E. Smith is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season. As for Western Harnett, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-15.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Triton the next time they take the court. Western Harnett will host Triton at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while E.E. Smith will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
