I Northern - Sierra recap Oct. 9, 2012
Douglas's Conner Peterson rumbled for the longest rushing play in I Northern - Sierra this season in his game against Damonte Ranch last week. Peterson's team fell to the Mustangs as he sprinted for 86 yards on the play and finished with 311 in all.
Damonte Ranch and Douglas played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Damonte Ranch eventually emerging with a 47-46 victory. Kyle Daugherty threw for 239 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 13 yards in the win.
Dustan Fisher was the best wideout in the league this week as Ernie Monfiletto's team lost to Shawn Dupris' team. Fisher tallied seven receptions for 89 yards. Peterson helped Douglas' passing attack out by catching three balls for 58 yards.
BRETT PILLING made the biggest impact on defense this week as Bishop Manogue fell to Galena. The 5-foot-10 defensive back racked up 1.0 sack.
The Tigers' Michael Nolting and Fisher have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading I Northern - Sierra in both passing and receiving yards. Nolting has thrown for 1920 yards this season, while Fisher, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 54 catches for 1028 yards. Drew Smith from the Mustangs leads the league in rushing with 1283 yards.
Entering into this week's contest against the Miners, Nolting is short just 80 passing yards to break 2,000 on the season.
The Grizzlies took down Bishop Manogue 42-25 last week, the largest margin of any game.
