Baseball Recap: Palmetto Drops Highest Score of Season Against Southeast

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Palmetto). They blew past the Southeast Seminoles 16-1 on Monday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Blake Willis was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, two stolen bases, and three runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Chance Schappacher was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Palmetto always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Palmetto's win bumped their record up to 4-16. As for Southeast, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.

Coming up, Palmetto will head out to square off against Lakewood Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Palmetto is facing Lakewood Ranch at the right time seeing as Lakewood Ranch is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Southeast, they will take on Sarasota Military Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sarasota Military Academy has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.75 runs per game on average), something Southeast will no doubt try to take advantage of.
