Baseball Recap: Goddard Extends Winning Streak to Three

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Goddard had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Chaparral Lobos. Considering the Rockets have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Airell Aguilar was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Goddard is undefeated when Aguilar posts two or more runs, but 7-14 otherwise. Nathan Herrera was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

The win (which was Goddard's third in a row) raised their record to 14-14. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Chaparral, their loss dropped their record down to 17-13.

Goddard didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Artesia on the 16th. Chaparral does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
