While the Shelbyville Rams couldn't quite beat the Meridian Hawks on Thursday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 25-point defeat they were dealt on Wednesday. Shelbyville fell just short of Meridian by a score of 52-49. Shelbyville was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Meridian apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Shelbyville lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Dru Clark, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds. Kenzie Jones was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Shelbyville and nudges their season record down to 8-16. As for Meridian, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-16.
Shelbyville will take on Warrensburg-Latham at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Meridian, they will head out on the road to challenge Heyworth at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
