Aledo is 9-1 against Granbury since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Aledo Bearcats will square off against the Granbury Pirates at 7:00 p.m. Aledo is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
Aledo took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Saginaw as Aledo made off with a 19-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bearcats in their matchups with the Rough Riders: they've now won seven in a row.

RYLEE MARX made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, AUSTYN MARRIAGE and KYLEIGH PAWLAK did most of the damage at the plate: MARRIAGE got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run and two RBI, while PAWLAK went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The dominant performance gave MARRIAGE a new career-high in RBI. MARINA TAVERAS was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
Aledo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Saginaw only posted an OBP of .200.
Meanwhile, Granbury lost 18-8 to Brewer on Tuesday. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
Preslee Carnes and Morgan Johnson did some serious damage despite the final result: Carnes scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Johnson scored a run while going 2-for-4. Johnson also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Karmyn Williams, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Aledo's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Granbury, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9-1.
Friday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Aledo has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .438. However, it's not like Granbury struggles in that department as they've averaged .446. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Aledo's way against Granbury in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Aledo made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Aledo since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
