The King Jaguars's and the Dyett Eagles's contest on Wednesday was close at halftime, but the King Jaguars turned on the heat in the second half with 30 points. King blew past Dyett 49-21 at home. That looming 49-21 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for King yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead King to victory, but perhaps none more so than Takeria Berkhalter, who scored 21 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Nyla Wright, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Dyett lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Keyana Sanderson, who scored eight points. Sanderson scored a full 38.1% of Dyett's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Rajeh Gardner was another key contributor, scoring six points.
The win got King back to even at 2-2. As for Dyett, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.
King will be playing at home against Perspectives-IIT/Joslin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Perspectives-IIT/Joslin comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Dyett will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Kenwood at 5:00 p.m. on December 1st. One thing working in Kenwood's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
