Despite the loss, Ransom Everglades saw an underclassman step up: Zeke Battier scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and five blocks. That was a full 40.8% of Ransom Everglades' points, marking the 15th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Connor Gumbs was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Ransom Everglades has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Westminster Christian, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-7.
Ransom Everglades won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Oxbridge Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 25th. Oxbridge Academy is on a four-game streak of home losses, Ransom Everglades a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Westminster Christian will take on LaSalle at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. LaSalle will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 542nd, while Westminster Christian is ranked 148th).
