The Clarke Indians put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Knoxville by a score of 68-58. Given Clarke's advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while Knoxville is ranked 85th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jack Cooley continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Clarke's points. Brock Watson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 8 rebounds.
Clarke's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Knoxville, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.
Clarke will head out on the road to face off against Albia at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Knoxville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Davis County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
