The Trinity Hillers are taking a road trip to challenge the Elizabeth Forward Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Trinity has three straight victories, Elizabeth Forward has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Monday, it was close, but Trinity sidestepped Penn-Trafford for a 12-11 win.
Landon Crowe tossed a big game, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits.
On the hitting side, Trinity got a massive performance out of Derek Falvo, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles. Ayvari Chandler was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth Forward didn't have quite enough to beat Belle Vernon on Tuesday and fell 10-9.
Elizabeth Forward also got a good showing from Josh Johnson, who tossed 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Johnson has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Jack Crovak made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Another player making a difference was JB Crovak, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.
The defeat was their first at home, dropping their record down to 7-4. As for Trinity, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Trinity couldn't quite get it done against Elizabeth Forward when the teams last played back in May of 2025 as they fell 6-3. Can the Hillers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
